Integrated Centre of Experimental Research (ICER)
Created
on 30th August 2002, this is a sector of the Faculdades Integradas
Espírita – FIES (Spiritualist Integrated Colleges).
All the sciences are consolidated through the continuous and
systematic production of knowledge within its area of influence.
In the case of psi research, production is limited by the
lack of financial resources, which curtails research. Nevertheless,
despite this limitation, a considerable body of knowledge
has been produced that offers proof of the existence of study
objects and sheds light on their nature.
In this challenging context, ICER maintains activities aimed
at developing scientific knowledge, both theoretical and practical,
which may contribute:
•To the institutional goals of FIES, especially its
philosophy of human values;
• To the scientific advance of psi research;
• To society in general, emphatically exploring practical
contributions.

The
specific goals are:
• To develop, in a systematic way, different types of
theoretical and experimental research;
• For these studies to explore: a) the understanding
of the phenomena (nature), b) its replication (proof), and
c) their practical application (social objective);
• To this end, to try to integrate a quantitative approach
(experimental) with a qualitative approach (phenomenological);
• To stimulate interdisciplinary and cross-cultural
activities, seeking to integrate professionals from different
areas, institutions and cultures;
• To develop scientific knowledge based on this research;
• To publish theoretical and experimental articles in
professional magazines and newspapers, as well as at congresses
and scientific events;
• To develop video-documentaries about research development
and related subjects, to facilitate the promotion of themes
of the area;
• To develop extension courses, lectures and workshops
at FIES and other institutions, publish articles in popular
newspapers and interact with the general means of communication,
aiming at integrating society with the developed scientific
knowledge;
• To maximise the potential of financial resources for
research and related activities;
• To facilitate educational research and supervised
internships for the students of the FIES;
• To establish and maintain a network of contacts and
partnerships with other institutions and researchers, both
national and international;
• To promote scientific events in this area, aiming
at the updating, integration and promotion of the work from
different researchers and cultures;
• Based on the developed knowledge, to offer, even if
in an exploratory and experimental way, services to the community,
aimed at developing possible practical applications of psi
research and, in this way, try to contribute to social development.
To
achieve these goals and organise these activities, the following
structure is adopted:
Four
experimental laboratories
•
DMILS – Direct mental interactions with living systems
• Ganzfeld and modified states of consciousness
• Micro PK
• Psychomanteum

DMILS study with students from the André Luiz School
Applied
Research Centre
Exploratory
studies aimed at checking the possibility:
• Of the improvement of decision making and solving
problems through anomalous capacities; ;
Social
and Scientific Interaction Centre
•

• National and International Interchanges
• Psi Meeting – annual
international scientific event
• Study groups (Neuroscience)
• Experimental groups in dynamics and deep experiences
for self-knowledge
• Interpersonal and Intuitive Development Groups, in
the Casa de Custódia de Curitiba (prison) and the André
Luiz School;

Coordinator
Fabio Eduardo da Silva is a Psi Researcher
(1994) at the Open Course of Parapsychology of the Faculdades
Integradas Espírita (FIES) and has been a professor
of this course since 1996, after concluding Consciousness
Studies at FIES. Has been a facilitator of deep experiences
and dynamics for self-knowledge since 1996. He is a psychologist
at the Universidade Tuiuti do Paraná (2006), a specialist
in Superior Education and Neuropsychology at IBPEX (2005/2007),
and Professor for Post-graduate courses. He completed his
Masters Degree in Social Psychology at the São Paulo
University, where he is currently conducting a Ph.D. in psi.
Fabio is also a member of the Parapsychological Association
