1 GENERAL INFORMATION

Promoted by Faculdades Integradas Espírita through the Integrated Centre of Experimental Research, and by International Society of Life Information Science (Japan) the 7th Psi Meeting: Psi Research and Anomalistic Psychology will be held in the city of Curitiba, state of Parana, in the south of Brazil, beginning in the afternoon (12.30 p.m.) on the 17th of August 2011 and ending in the afternoon (6.20 p.m.) on the 18th of the same month.

The picture shows the Faculdades Integradas Espírita, in Curitiba.

The Psi Meeting focuses traditionally on Psi Research, aiming to contribute to the scientific development of this field. The seventh edition, however, expands this focus to include related areas, encouraging even more interdisciplinary perspectives. These areas can include various psychological approaches such as Anomalistic Psychology (the theme of this edition), Cognitive Psychology, Social Psychology, Psychology of Religion, Transpersonal Psychology and Psychopathology, among others. It can also include Physics, Biology, Anthropology and History, as well as consciousness study disciplines, for example Philosophy and Cognitive Neuroscience. The meeting aims, therefore, to develop the integration of psi research with other areas, allowing psi researchers to know these areas better and vice versa.

The Psi Meeting intends to stimulate a cross-cultural approach, promoting the integration of researchers from several countries and cultures. It also seeks to spread the knowledge produced in these areas into society, aiming at social integration and feedback.

As such, the following is expected: a) 18 scientific papers; b) 2 round tables (I. The varieties of human experiences, and II. Psi research and Anomalistic Psychology); c) 2 guest speakers: Stanley Krippner (Ph.D.) and Carlos Alvarado (Ph.D.) from the United States and d) 4 informal presentations: Ravil Sedreev, (B.Sc.) from Russia; Hideyuki Kokubo, (B.Sc.) from Japan; Joan H. Hageman, (Ph.D.) from USA; David Luke (Ph.D.) from UK and Roger Nelson, (Ph.D.) from USA.

Translation (from English to Portuguese and vice versa) will be provided for the works and lectures presented in order to minimize language limitations).
